Gator Aid

My parents lived in Louisiana for a long time and I was raised on story books about alligators and the bayou.  I guess that shines through a bit in this film I completed for my Ani 115 final project...

Tree House Design

This was my final painting for the Tree House project for ani 117A. It is a visual development piece for a hypothetical screen treatment of Gary Soto's writings.

Kitchen Design

I'm currently working on this assignment for school that is based off of the short stories and poems of Gary Soto.  Soto's work really artfully tells the experiences he went though as a child.  In his short story, The Haircut, he becomes the victim of a 12 year old hair-dresser and fears his mother's reaction.  So although I imagine no real harm would come to him when facing his mother's wrath, I wanted to convey a feeling of apprehension from a child's perspective.

24 Hour Animation Contest

On Friday, September 27th 2013, a group of 5 students embarked on a mission to finish a 30 second film in 24 hours under the theme: What if You Had 24 Hours to Live?  Hunter Welker, Alvin Concepcion, Clayton Chan, Oscar Guevara, and myself formed team Middle Mouse Drag. Not only did we finish without casualties, we succeeded in winning 4th place in the competition!
Here's the final product and a bit of a look into our process:

Gestures - Human and Animal Drawings from life

I had lots of awesome assignments this semester that just involved going out and drawing.  My favorite places were the Oakland Zoo and SJSU Football game tailgates (arguably the same thing).
